Menagerie

"So how did it go," Wendy asked.

"It was really weird. I scared Lindy," I replied while untying my shoelaces.

"What?"

"Not on purpose. When I got close to her house, the neighbor's dogs started barking. Lindy heard the noise and tried to see what was causing the commotion. She said she saw something moving through the window, then I popped up right behind her by her door. I think she almost went into labor," I said.

"I doubt it. It's too soon," Wendy said. "So what did she say?"

"She was really happy to get the pie."

"I bet."

"Yeah. She was like, 'oh my God, you guys!'" I sat down at my desk. "You should have seen how surprised she looked when I told her it was pumpkin cheesecake layered pie."

"It's good pie," Wendy said.

"But there's more. There was some crazy stuff," I continued. "Since I was at their house, I decided to jog down Alii Road. After a while, I heard some metal jingling. I knew I didn't have my keys, so I looked around. There was this little brown terrier following me. Then some cars were coming, so I had to stop and get off the road so the dog wouldn't get run over. I was hoping the dog would have gone home, but he kept following me. So I just kept jogging. A bit later, I heard another dog barking and running after us. I looked back and it was another brown terrier chasing us."

Wendy giggled.

"But something looked wrong on the dog. It was running funny."

A curious look appears on Wendy's face.

"At first it looked like something was wrong with the dog's leg. It looked fat." I held my hands up as if gripping a melon to show her the size. "But when I looked closer, it wasn't the dog's leg." I moved my hands to a cupping motion. "It was the dog's balls!"

"Eww! No way," Wendy exclaimed.

"Yeah. Serious. The dog had elephantitis of the nuts!"

"That's sick," Wendy replied.

"So I get down to my parents and I take out Chico. I could only take him on half of his walk because he kept eating grass until he puked. I mean puke puke. He puked so bad he couldn't walk." I pantomimed a drunken dog. "I put him back in his cage and came back up here. I started jogging up Koko Road when I saw a bunch of kids on the road. I thought they were just playing, but when I got closer, I saw that they were all excited about a goat. There was a goat on the road. And guess what? The goat started following me when I jogged past."

Wendy laughed.

"Luckily it got bored and stopped half a block later."

I fiddled with my computer for a bit. "Holy cow! Babe, check this out. Airfare dropped!"

And now we will be able to visit Wendy's farm in Indiana.

Only 1 Day!

We got a new pet. His name is Whiskers. He's a three-inch long mouse that crawled out of our bedroom while Wendy was cooking. He's so tame that he walked right across the kitchen floor, right up to Wendy's feet. All I could manage was, "oh $hit!"

Wendy, on the other hand, managed to say a bit more. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" And she danced a jig.

Whiskers didn't last long. While I was discovering his point of entry, he climbed into our window jalousies. Once the jalousies were closed, he was trapped. I went out to exercise Whiskers with Wendy's shoe, but he ran away. sniffle...

In other news, the lasagna turned out great. It wasn't as good as the one we had at Grandma M's, but it was an awesome first try.

Oh, and did you know that you're supposed to use hot oil when you fry stuff in stainless steel pans? I didn't know that. I grew up with non-stick pans. Now I have some scrubbing to do this afternoon.

We also received a wedding invitation. Yay! But it looks like people are still confusing my middle name with my last name. Heh.

We're Here!

It's been slightly over a month since we got married, and Wendy is already bugging me to update our website.  However, since our wedding website will expire in a few months, no point in going down with the sinking ship.  So I guess it's time for a new blog.

So here we are.  Wendy and Ryan.  We got married on October 10, 2009.  It was a quaint ceremony with a very nice reception at Gaylord's at Kilohana.  I highly recommend them.

Right now Wendy is on the phone with her mom.  She's been telling her how I've been forcing her to cook her family's awesome lasagna recipe.  It's a recipe that takes about 2 days to prepare.  We (read: she) started after dinner last night and we got to bed at around 2 AM this morning.

And the way she tells her mom, you'd think I was Pol Pot himself.

Wendy didn't mention how I woke up early and used the extra ground pork to make breakfast sausage patties and scrambled eggs for breakfast.  Nor how I am currently baking banana bread for tonight's dessert.  Sigh.  Such is the life of a tyrannical dictator.  (Or a loving husband, but don't tell anyone.  I have a rep to protect.)

It's raining right now.  It's the leftovers of a thunderstorm.  Luckily I decided to bake.  I would have gone motorcycle riding instead.  That would have sucked.

Anyway, time for me to either play video games or bug Wendy while she's on the phone.  Here's a bunch of pictures for you to peruse.
